Why I’d look at Fuse

On top of the government’s £100The Budget announced a £100 Household Energy Payment for households in council tax bands A–D in England, paid from January 2027 through local authorities. Fuse’s sign-up credit is separate, so eligible households could get both. Check your band and the rules.
£100 off, just for switchingIt’s a straight credit towards your bills once your first one is paid.
Competitive pricingIn recent Uswitch comparisons, Fuse’s fixed tariffs came out below the Ofgem price cap. Tariffs change, so always check today’s quote.
Managed from an appFuse is an app-based supplier, so you can see your usage and bills from your phone.

Why the unit rate matters more from now on

The Budget confirmed that the government has asked Ofgem to abolish gas standing charges for homes in Great Britain, aiming for the end of 2027 or soon after. Electricity standing charges will be reformed, with details to follow next year.

Suppliers will recover those costs through gas unit rates instead, so the cost doesn’t vanish. That makes the unit rate the number to compare, today and in future.

Is it the cheapest? Check for yourself

The best deal depends on where you live, how much energy you use and what’s on offer this week. I won’t tell you Fuse is cheapest for everyone, because it isn’t always.

Get a quote from Fuse and compare the unit rate and standing charge with your current tariff. If it’s better, you’ll also get £100 credit on top.

A straight answer on who I am

I’m a Fuse Energy customer, not an employee. This is my own page and I’m not speaking for the company.

I get £100 credit if you join with my code, and so do you. That’s the only reason I’m sharing it.

Switching to Fuse Energy: what to expect

Fuse says it’s an Ofgem-regulated supplier, and that your new supplier handles the switch with your old one. It normally takes around 5 working days.

You may be asked for a final meter reading, or your smart meter sends it for you. Fuse also says it offers 24/7 human support, and a free upgrade if you don’t have a smart meter. Check Fuse’s own site for the current details.
